CPU: AMD FX-8320 Black Edition, Socket-AM3+

Cooler: Cooler Master V8 GTS

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair V Formula-Z, Socket-A

RAM: HyperX Fury DDR3 1600MHz 4GB Red x 4

Graphics: Sapphire Radeon R9 290x

SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2.5" OEM

HDD: Seagate Barracuda® 1TB

Power supply: Cooler Master G650M, 650W PSU

Monitor: BenQ 24" LED GL2450 ( 60 Hz)

I experience that my pc is slow. Also on games like BF4, and CS:GO. Causing FPS drops and such.

I know for fact that I dont have malware etc on my PC. I never visit suspicious websites, and etc etc etc, never enter unknown links etc etc. I do it all by the book.

but I feel that my system is not so snappy. And my PC is as clean as it gets.

Also I am not comfortable with doing OC.

So what can I do? That is idiot-proof and more or less safe?

Solution
Run malwarebytes free edition regardless.
Malware can creep in from even trusted sites.
Can't hurt.

The cores of a FX are relatively slow.
Your cheapest solution would be to learn to overclock your processor.
You will likely need a better cooler for that.

Here are some tests to give you a better idea of what is going on:

a) Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

b) Limit your cpu; in windows power management, limit the maximum cpu% to something like 70%.
Go to control panel/power options/change plan settings/change advanced power...

to do this download HW monitor (from cpuid) and run ur games in windowed/borderless mode so that it doesnt switch the load around (u know the black screen during alt+tab) and then compare ur temps to the reccomended temps.

Apart from that having 4gb of ddr3 is hardly ever enough if there is a bottleneck i would think this could be the problem

Go to control panel/power options/change plan settings/change advanced power settings/processor power management/maximum processor state/
This will simulate what a lack of cpu power will do.
Conversely what a 30% improvement in core speed might do.

You should also experiment with removing one or more cores. You can do this in the windows msconfig boot advanced options option. You will need to reboot for the change to take effect. Set the number of processors to less than you have.
This will tell you how sensitive your games are to the benefits of many cores.
Most games can not use more than 2-3 cores.

If your FPS drops significantly, it is an indicator that your cpu is the limiting factor, and a cpu upgrade is in order.
