Hello everyone! I have an good old 2600k overclocked to 4.5ghz.. ram is set to standard ddr3 1333.. was wondering will overclocking ram will increase performance on video encoding, rendering, editing? my mobo supports up to 2400mhz.. also if anyone can guide me thru the process of overclocking ram will be greatly appreciated.. thanks!!

My MOBO
Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

Try the 2x8GB 1600 sticks, should see a bit of an increase, as far as OCing the DRAM to 2400 - A) not likely and if you did would probably need a CL so high it would be lower performance than a lower data rate with tighter timings and B) good chance your CPU might ne be able to run 2400. Even if a mobo is 'rated' to 2400, the MC (memory controller) in the CPU is the determining factor. Depending on your 1600 sticks, you might well be able to OC them to 1866 for another small performance increase
