buzzing sound from a secondary HDD non-stop

Hi guys ,
I bought 3 months ago a brand new Acer aspire VN7 notebook, and I upgrade him with 256 gb ssd m2 and also left his 1 tb HDD Toshiba MQ01ABD100 , at first the hdd was quite but now It doing constantly a read/write sound the little buzzing liek the video here https://youtu.be/J09pWNQPK7U?t=15 ofc it a little bit different but thats maybe because its inside my notebook. I doubth the sound is coming from my ssd m2 , cause its running on chips and dont have mechanical componets? But here is the strange thing I use the HDD just for movie folder , basicly I have only movies there I also went to my power option and set the hdd to turn off after 1 min of non usage, however it still doing this annoying sound. I restarted the computer , stopped all my explorers or movie players it keep doing this buzzing sound , non stop. I did monitor my HDD through my task manager and its complete shut down , it shows 0kb/s read and 0kb/s write. But the sound is keep coming. Does that mean that the HDD is going to die , shoud I contanct my warrenty I really dont know what to do. Im open for your opinion. BTW crystaldiskinfo says that hdd status is good, and i also de-fragmented the hdd.

First backup all important data to another destination drive and even a second drive if you can. Verify that the data backups are good.

Go to Toshiba's website for a disk utility that can run health tests on the drive. Or look for some third party utility that will do HDD testing.

If any problems are found then look into a replacement drive via the warranties.

Hey there, CrazyElemen7!

Unfortunately, these buzzing sounds could be indicating internal hardware failure of the mechanical hard drive. :( I'd follow @Ralston18's advice and backup all your contents from the HDD immediately somewhere off-site. The laptop is relatively new so you might be able to RMA it and get the failed component replaced by the manufacturer. However, if you have already physically tampered with the notebook's components, you might not be able to do that.
Either way, you should keep in mind that, sometimes, physical HDD corruption may be undetected by the diagnostic utilities.

Better be safe than sorry, and replace the drive.

Checked the HDD with seatools and It pass all the tests :( but its keep doing this read/write sound :( despite the fact its not doing anything? Is this even possible? The hdd to do write/read sound but it actualy dont do cause in Task manager my HDD now is completly shut down 0 kbs read and write.

Unfortunately, sometimes even HDD diagnostic software utilities cannot detect hardware-related issues. I'd not trust any data with that drive, if I were you. However, I'd definitely backup the data somewhere else and contact the manufacturer's customer support for assistance. I'd also check the warranty on the HDD on their official website to see if it's still covered, so that you'd RMA it. Their support should be able to provide you with a replacement.

What ohter hardware can it be? It is doing the same sound as read/write hdd. Neither RAM/CPU/SSD/GPU can do any sounds they are just chips they dont do sounds , the only moving compoments are HDD and the fans(its not fans for sure).

Resonance maybe.

Can you stop, diminish, or otherwise change the sound by holding, carefully pressing the case near the sound?

Perhaps the HDD is vibrating a bit and at just the right frequency to start resonating. Shift the HDD's position a little and gently tighten things down again.

Look for any connectors that are "hanging free" and be touching somewhere. Perhaps came loose from a clip, tie-wrap, or non-conductive tape.

I'd definitely advise you to contact the laptop manufacturer's customer support for assistance with this. The computer is relatively new and you should still be covered by the warranty (if the SSD upgrade was authorized by the manufacturer). As I already mentioned some hardware failures can go undetected by the testing software utilities. I'd suggest you consider removing the HDD and see how the laptop will perform then. (Only if the warranty has been voided!)

I know the video isnt good enough but u can hear its repeating , but now I get even more currious I dont know now if its HDD because, its doing this when I watch HD movie x265 and it dosent matter if I play it on my ssd or my hdd on bouth devices is doing the same thing... maybe somehow when I play it on the ssd the hdd wakes up or I dont know. Its doing this sound like every 10-15 secs when doing nothing like just webing but when watching movings it doing it non stop...

The problem persist again even with hdd removed 2 ssd now , when I flip over the notebook the sound is coming from thef ans , this is really strange cause the sound mimic exactly the same as hdd read/write. I hope that after cleaning the fans will be all right otherwise I think they should change them. I knew it wasnt the HDD cause this is happening when I put the pc under load aka need the fans to start spin! :(

Was just curious if any1 of you guys(prolly a guys that deal with computers) Im not dumb enough to narrow the problem and I did it its my fans(or one of them) it doing it mostly at exactly load(avarage) its ticking , like broken bearing or more like some cable hitting ... I dont think its dust , Will bring the notebook at monday at the dealer and ask for fan replacments.
PS tried fan clean with vacum cleaner(worked on my last notebook) it dosent fix anything so definetly not a dust... its either failing bearing or fan hitting cable.

Tommorow I will go to the dealer , and talk about the problem , I suspect they won't take me serioursly , because it actually working fan, the pc with stable temp just the ssd m2 is a little bit hgiher 56-57 grads but I think they generate more temp then a normal ssd. So I suspect I will have 2 scenarious. 1st go home with nothign fixed and wait for fan to die completly , or just pay them to install 2 new fans. Will see it tommorow :)

Congrats , I swear I never have luck with anything I buy. So I went to my dealer he disable the notebook cover we stopped bouth of the fans with finger and sound keep persist , so when you get closer to the notebook you hear the sound the buzzing one s coming right under the motherboard, he suggest boost controllers, interesting is that they wasnt that loud before , so something in them definetly not right , we ship the notebook to acer warrenty service in Bulgaria(I live there) , but he also told me that is mostly likly to return my notebook with nothing fix just with a note sayng "not proper request for warrenty aka this sound is completly normal". But it isnt it wasnt that way and common! Im now on my 6 year old acer aspire 7551g and the only sound is coming is the fan blowing air! This is radicolous , I dont know if they refuse to change the motherboard can I contact protection of the consumer rights and demand for full refund and then buying a new laptop or atleast give me a new one, since I dont find normal the notebook to produce sounds like welding or like short circuit. I will prolly make a new thread to hear some suggestion can this be fixed buy removing and placing new controlers or just replace the motherboard ...
