So at microcenter right now I can get them both for 90$ the 8320e is very on sale instore. So which do I get? I wont be planning on overclocking because I believe it shortens the cpu's life but if it doesnt then I will oc but I am pretty sure it does. So 8320e and 6300? both 90$ which do I get? thanks

As far as power goes, they're both 95W TDP parts. You have a low power 8-core vs a normal 6-core (or 4 core vs 3 core, depending on what you consider a core). The 8320e is also newer so boards may need a new BIOS update to support them - odds are this isn't a problem, just something to look out for.

For OC and lifetime... I think it's generally accepted that OCs *do* decrease the lifetime of a CPU. However, the relevant questions are

1) Decreases it from what?

2) Decreases it by how much? (Or equivalently: Decreases it to what?)

Thing is, CPUs last a long time. Decades is common, so unless you're planning on this being your last build until 2030 or so you don't need to worry about it. Even if you decrease it by half its lifetime, it still has many many years of service. In practical terms, I've never seen a CPU fail to work properly due to a stable OC that was held for over a year. Dead due to a very high OC - sure, that happens, that's why I specified stable and used for a long period of time. Don't be dumb about the OC and you'll be fine.

So what would be an accept oc from 3.2ghz with the stock cooler and this build which is ( http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FjGjjX ) What would you oc at with just a stock cooler like that to still preform???

Do NOT overclock on stock cooler.

Do NOT overclock on that low end motherboard.

I agree.

Definitely replace that cooler. That said the e processor is only 95w you can overclock A LITTLE because of its low TDP. But not with the stock cooler at all.

Would something like a 212 evo work?

I own an FX-8320E and Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3. Using an old Xigmatek tower cooler (not as good as a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo) I was able to overclock it to 4.2 Ghz and not top 50C while gaming in a reasonably well ventilated case. Usually it was in the mid 40s. You can absolutely overclock it to 4.0 Ghz with little effort on that motherboard. It supports up to a 125W FX-8350 or FX-8370 which run @ 4.0 Ghz on 8 cores - of course you can bump a 95W 8 core FX processor to that speed.
