I just put together an Lynfiield i5 in a HTPC with a Intel DQ57TM that I bought used from Ebay and has a 120GB SSD with a 1TB hard drive and another 320GB hard drive and a dvd burner with a thermaltake Slimx3 and I EVGA 730. Currently about 15-20 after booting in the computer there is a smell of thermalpaste I think, I assumed I had put on too much thermalpaste so I cleaned it off with rubbing alcohol and reapplied less. I don't know if my cpu cooler is able to keep up with my cpu or if the used motherboard is bad.
-Thanks hope this is enough info.

I'm sorry I don't have anything to take temps with but the heatsink is very hot to the touch and will shut down after a while and while I try to boot back up I get 3 sets of 4 beeps high than low, then high then low and won't give me a picture.

Out of curiosity, what was the solution?

Looks like I plug in the cpu fan in the case fan slot instead of the dedicated cpu fan slot a stupid but easy fix.
