Currently I use a Samsung 850 EVO 500gb in my dell laptop with the 1 tb hard drive that came with it kept as a spare. I plan on making a gaming pc within 2 -4 weeks so will be purchasing a 120gb or 240gb ssd to to use in my laptop(cause I only use like 80 GB out of 463 GB that can be used) so I can use my EVO SSD and HDD in my gaming pc. I am going to use parted magic to wipe the SSD clean. As for the new SSD I will clone it using the old SSD before I wipe the old one then put the new SSD in my laptop(Out of the 480. My question is will I be able to put the wiped SSD into my new PC then use a usb containing Windows 10 to install windows 10 on the EVO SSD upon its first boot up or will it have to already installed in it before I put it into the PC upon its first boot up. Also, if I dont wipe the EVO SSD, but just put it in the new PC, will it display the Dell brand logo upon boot up that currently shows up when I boot up my laptop.

Solution
Don't use parted magic to wipe the drive. Use Magician to secure erase the drive.

Let windows format the drive when you install the OS to it which should be after you have installed it into the system where its going to live. Using a USB drive is the preferred way to install windows. In the bios set the boot drive to the SSD (no other hdd/ssd should be connected) and use the proper F-key combo during POST to select the flash drive as the boot drive and you wont have problems

Your Dell logo answer is no, that comes from the bios though there may be a dell background logo on the desktop
