Hi,

Is there a utility that can help me get a list of files that are corrupted on my SSD? Here's a little more about my issue:

In the past week twice, I turned my computer on and my 1TB SSD was missing. I opened up, disconnected and receonnected and booted back up and it was back both times. But on the second time it did a chkdsk automatically that found errors but it all went by really fast.

Then I tried to just do a straight copy of everything on the drive to one of my externals to back it all up. Some files during the copy said they couldn't be read and couldn't be copied. We're talking about a drive of 100s of 1000s of files here (i'm a composer and it's audio samples), so there's no way I could one by one click skip, skip skip, so I did "skip for all conflicts" and it eventually finished after hours. upon completion and comparing, there's like 160 files missing from the copy on my external hard drive.

I found out how to get a log of the chkdsk, but it's nowhere near 160 files listed as having issues, more like 60 or so.

so I'd love to find out what files/folders are specifically having issues so that maybe if I'm lucky, I can use this copy of the entire folder structure, and just reinstall the software from the folders that were having issues to save me some time, once I get a replacement Drive.

Thank you!

thank you that's helpful. also i just totally remembered winmerge which lets you compare two folders, so i'm going to compare my backup to my main drive... that should help too. thanks!
