Can I fit a graphics card in my laptop's spare PCIe x16 slot?

I use CAD a lot on my laptop (Samsung NP530U4C-A01UK) and the intel hd4000 integrated graphics can struggle at times. I was hoping I could install a discrete graphics card to boost the performance a bit. After a bit of digging I found that the higher end versions of my laptop such as the NP530U4C-S01IN have both Intel HD4000 and a NVidia GeForce GT 620M GPU and switch between the two using NVidia Optimus. I also read that my laptop has a spare PCI express x16 slot although I'm yet to open the laptop up to confirm this. Interestingly my laptop shipped with the NVidia drivers installed although I stupidly uninstalled these a few months in to owning it.

Do you think its possible I could install a similar NVidia graphics card plugging it into the spare pci slot? If so, would I have to install the same BIOS as one of the higher end models to make it work?

Thanks in advance!
