Hi all,
This is a bit beyond my knowledge - so hopefully someone can shed some light for me.
The background:
My GF is a fan of garage sales, so that's what we spent this past weekend doing.
Anyway, to kill to boredom, I spent my time digging through all the electronics, computers & components I could find. I came across a Corsair TX650 and seemed to recall reading somewhere the model "CMPSU-650TX" was a SeaSonic made, old S12? based build and was a quality PSU in it's day.....maybe 6 years ago or so?
Anyway, I picked it up along with a couple of brand new SATA cables for a total of $8CAD.
Just curious:
1. Is there any way to accurately test whether this PSU is still performing at an acceptable level?
2. Assuming it is, is the TX650 still a viable PSU for daily use?
I don't need this PSU for myself, but I might use it in a budget build or a 'frankenstein' type rig from random used components at some point - if it's still functional of course. Ultimately, it's $8 including some SATA cables I'll definitely use so, if it's junk, it's junk - no big deal.
