HDD, SSD, Optical drive not detected in UEFI

I recently built a computer (OS not installed yet), including an ASRock fm2a88x pro3 motherboard, a samsung 128gb ssd, a hitachi 2tb hdd, and an asus optical drive. I can boot it up and access UEFI fine, however the ssd, hdd, and optical drive do not show up in the boot device list. The optical drive does work fine (I can open and close it and the lights on it turn on), and it sounds like the hdd is on when I boot it up.

Originally I thought the issue was because I plugged the SATA cables into SATA 6 and 8 on the motherboard, but even after I correctly plugged in them into SATA 1 (ssd) and SATA 2 (hdd), they still don't show up in the device list. I didn't make any adjustment to the optical drive and it still doesn't show up, but I was hoping that it would if I could figure out how to get the ssd and hdd to appear. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

I assume you previously tried installing the OS on your Hitachi HDD with the same negative results. If so, that would seem to rule out a problem with the disks (the SSD & the HDD) themselves. But since you obviously have another PC available, do check out the SSD with Samsung's Magician software

It's conceivable, of course, that you may be dealing with a defective motherboard. I'm always loathe to assume that possibility unless all other issues have been ruled out. Unfortunately I've very little experience with AMD-based MBs; nearly all my experience has been with Intel-based systems. Perhaps a contact with ASRock re this issue might be productive so give that a try.

I assume you've reset the CMOS and set the BIOS to optimum settings.
Can we assume your basic objective at this point is to install an OS onto your SSD?

If that is so, how are you planning to install the OS? DVD installation disk? Windows Media Tool? What?

So what exactly happens when you install the OS installation media and boot to it? Nada? Error message of one kind or another? What?

I've got a DVD installation disk. When I insert it and start up, I'm only taken to the UEFI screen with no messages or anything different whatsoever. Restarting it produces the same result. I can hear the disk spin occasionally after inserting it and letting it run if that makes any difference.

I take it your SSD is a new disk? Contains no data? Possibly unpartitioned/unformatted?
With ONLY your SSD connected in the system - no other drives - and you boot to the DVD OS installation disk, do you keep tapping any key so that the optical disk is accessed?
And if that doesn't work, when you boot the system one of your F keys (F11 or F12 or another) should bring up the boot menu. (Check your motherboard's User Manual for that info). Hopefully the DVD should be listed so see if you can access the OS setup that way.

It is a new SSD with no data. I've not tried only connecting the SSD and booting though, every time the HDD has been in too. I've not tried tapping any key either. Also I did once try bringing up the boot menu but the only option listed was to go to the UEFI.

Something else relevant is that the UEFI of the motherboard I installed can give an overview of what's plugged in to the various ports across it. When I checked the SATA ports, it showed nothing was connected.

I can't try anything as of right now seeing as I'm not home but I'll do so when I get the chance

Update: tried pressing anything during startup and only using the SSD, nothing worked. I then tried swapping out the sata cables for IDE and that didn't work either.

I figured this out on the 12th but have been unable to log in due to some sort of error.

Anyways, I made an extremely amateur mistake. I confused the power cable for being IDE, so instead of having both the SATA and power cable in the drives at the same time, I only had one or the other in.
