Hi,

Pretty soon im changing cpu cooler and case, switching to a be quiet dark rock 3 and fractal design define r5. I had some questions regarding the upgrade process:

1. Am i okay to just take all components out and teansfer them to new case without any precautions? Should i unistall any drivers before removing gpu for example

2. When would be the recommended time to replace my current cooler. Whilst its in my current case, whilst its outside the case, or whilst its in the new case?

Thank you

1. You don't need to take any precautions more than having care when transfering the system. More physical things than software. A cooler and case change does not have any impact in the performance of your PC. (apart of the temps and the airflow). Don't worry about that, just take it off the old one and put it in the new one.

2.I recommend you doing when your motherboard is out of the case and before puting it back in the other case.

Thanks for all answers.

My only concern with replacing cooler outside case is that it might make installing the backplate tricky wouldnt it? That would mean handling the motherboard to turn it over
