I'm building a new 4k build for the 1080 and was wondering what the best Intel CPU is for the 1080 and 4k overall.

Motherboard : Most likely MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
RAM : Kingston HyperX Fury White 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Budget : £1100

Thanks for all suggestions

by "most likely" do you mean you don't have the motherboard as of now?
Anyway, this is what I recommend:

(the 450 for the 1080 is an aproximation)

For best overall chip on 1150, I'm a huge fan of the 1231v3 (especially if helps to get the best GPU possible):

http://www.microcenter.com/product/442355/Xeon_E3_1231V3_35GHz_LGA_1150_Boxed_Processor

And fantastic deals can be had especially if you live close to one of those. It does leave a few fps on the table, but has great price to performance figures to make up for it:

If you're Twitch/streaming (or think you might like to someday), recording and carrying on with other multitasks while gaming (or you play big map MMOs)....8 threads starts to have some advantages.

You save some money initially with the xeon but I hear that you can't overclock them, so I personally vote for the 6700k.

I love the build it sounds awesome, especially with the 2TB and SSD. This may sound like a super pain in the ass, but would it be possible to do a black and white build? Is there anything I could change to make it suit this color scheme?
