I right now have an i7-4930k overclocked to 4.2 GHz and was wondering if I should sell it and buy an i7-6700k, new motherboard, some DDR4, and Windows 10 Home and hope that I can get an one that can to at least 4.4 GHz? I want better gaming performance. Is there a good change that I will be able to get an i7-6700k to overclock to 4.4 GHz and without requiring expensive cooling? How does an i7-6700k overclocked to 4.4 GHz compare to an i7-4930k overclocked to 4.2 GHz in gaming. However if I get unlucky and get a i7-6700k that won't overclock at all I think it would be a waste of time and money for me, especially when I have to buy more hardware and Windows 10 to go along with it.

You only give limited information, but I would recommend if you want better gaming performance, you need a better GPU not a CPU. Your current CPU runs games pretty much as well as any CPU. Very few games would benefit from switching CPUs and the few that did would only show that improvement with multiple top-tier GPUs present. You would also lose performance in any games that can take advantage of the extra cores in the 4930k.

Keep what you have. It would definitely be a waste of money for very little improvement. The difference in processing power may yield you a couple extra frames. DDR4 does not improve frames. They've done lots of benchmarking - system RAM doesn't improve game framerates except for IGPUs.
