Possibility of SLI on Asus P8P67 LE?

I found that I can change the second PCI-E 16x slot from 4x mode to 8x mode in the BIOS while disabling the two 1x slots (I don't need them anyway).

I tried searching for this on the internet but only found the answer that you need the slot to be 8x minimum for SLI, and being 4x it doesn't cut it. I was wondering if SLI would be possible with this setting after all?

The Asus site doesn't state that it would be SLI capable, but I haven't found any other criteria for SLI capability other than the slot speed (like needing to have some kind of support for SLI in the motherboard chips themselves etc).

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience on this or other similar options on motherboards in regards to SLI. If it would work it could mean that I might stretch my use of this board for a bit longer.

To my knowledge, no, we've had people ask about SLI on that board that say Asus said no. Unless they have done a BIOS upgrade of sorts, would say it's still no
