2. My gpu requires 2 8pin, so Can I, with my power suply, use 6 pin to 8pin adapters?

For CPU i have intel i5 6700k

figure up what your full load amps will be ?

maybe at full load use 77w chip = 6.5 amps strick review average full load power draw 173w = 14.5 amps 10 amps for the rest of the system

31 amps total a true 530w at 12v+ should be real close to 44.16

so do the math on what youir parts could draw ? then see what psu give you that amps at the 12v + some nice overhead for error

your chip I thnk shows 91w that's 7.5 amps stock full power draw overclocking causes that to go up

here shows your card at 408w load that's 34 amps 550w psu then add the rest of the system ? say 10 amps 610w at 8 for the chip 34 for the card 10 for the rest of your system = 52 amps at the 12v + that's a true 625w psu min.. in my opinion

a 650 should have about 54 amps at the 12v+

not much head room [more opinion]

your best answers may have you falling short

that 6 or 8 pin don't mean squat its all about the amps

Nothing near that many watts.

System Power Consumption

For this test we hooked up our power supply to a UPM power meter that will log the power consumption of the whole system twice every second. In order to stress the GPU as much as possible we used 15 minutes of Unigine Valley running on a loop while letting the card sit at a stable Windows desktop for 15 minutes to determine the peak idle power consumption.

you got me , I'm a dumb butt , trying to do 3 things at once caught up to me . sorry

all ways keep track of me and let me know ... I can slip a lot at times when thing are busy

like here it says card not system as wll so I took the next site for granted ??

''For this test, we measure the power consumption of only the graphics card via the PCI-Express power connector(s) and PCI-Express bus slot''

''
https://wwwFurmark maximum power shows that Gigabyte has increased the card's power limit to make full use of the 2x 8-pin power connection.''

.techpowerup.com/reviews/Gigabyte/GTX_980_Ti_G1_Gaming/28.html

so you se what I was getting at and I would still plan on that in amps regardless so if the card does need that 50 amps and the psu can only give 40 ?? now what? plan at that 359w in my book
