6 pin connector to 4 pin connector on mother board?

Hello everyone! I have a noob question for you :)
I have an asus formula z crosshair v motherboard. I bought the system used from someone on craigslist and it works great. There is a 4 pin connector about 3 inches to the right of the main 6 pin CPU power connector - this 4 pin connector is apparently used as supplementary power to the CPU in overclocked systems and may increase system stability at high overclocks.

Heres the question! When I search for the cable that would connect my IDE power cables to the 4 pin connector on the MOBO, I find almost exclusively IDE to 6 pin connectors. Can I use a 6 pin connector on the 4 pin slot, or is there a proper cord out there just waiting to be linked to ;)

Also -
cables that are 1x IDE to 1x 6 pin
or
cables that are 2x IDE to 1x 6 pin

Is there a difference? My gut was to go with the latter but am very curious to know if it matters.

THANK YOU SO MUCH TOM'S HARDWARE! I have come here for years but have never actually asked :) Thanks for so many lucid moments in troubleshooting nightmares.

Understood. As it says, you don't need to connect to both. One (right most) is an 8-pin connection. The other 4 pins. These use a different pin-out than PCIe connectors use. You should have the proper connector from your PSU as previously mentioned.

From the manual, there is a 4-pin and a 8-pin connector. Looks like you only need to attach to one of them. Your PSU should have either a 4-pin or 4+4 (total 8-pins) pin connector that you can use. DO NOT connect (force) a PCIe connection into either of these ports.
