I have an athlon 860k and oc to 4.3ghz
but, i can get an FX 8320 + Mobo for 125$
is it worth while and will it make a difference?

Really looking to play the new BF game when it comes out.

If you are going to use the extra 4 cores, it would be worth it. But for gaming I doubt you will see any difference, though BF seems to make good use of the extra cores. You will have to overclock the FX of course, so it depends a bit on the motherboard that comes with the FX.

The 860K is a solid processor for gaming, especially when overclocked. If your current graphics card (you didn't mention) performs well below a GTX 950, look in that direction instead (since no amount of CPU upgrade will help you due to bottle-neck). With the pending release of the 1070/1080, lots of used graphics cards better than the GTX 950 should come on the market in the 125$ range.

Per core, the 860K performs better than the FX-8320 (unless you plan to overclock it well beyond the 860K). However, if BF makes good use of the extra cores in the FX-8320, then it might be an improvement (though probably less than 20%). No way to know without seeing benchmarks of the game when it is released, but you may find comparisons between the two for the current BF.

I have an R7 260x and 860K right now
I plan on getting a 380 or 280x for BF1
so would it be worth going that. I cant get intel way too pricey and out of my budget. im just going for 60fps.
when is Zen coming out? should I wait
and yea I agree the 860k is a cheap best for gaming. I play BF4 at med-high settings on 64 player maps and the lowest ive ever seen it drop is to 45. but its usually above 60.

My bet is on spending what you have on the graphics (and the 380/280x is fine, if you are not too worried about the future). If you do that first, then even a small overclock on the 860K should be sufficient for BF1, but just a guess:

Other thoughts: Make sure your power supply has the head-room for a 380/280x (500+ watts). If not, the Nvidia 960/950 could be about 75 watts less for similar performance during game play.

Do you have Mantle turned on for BF4?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAgiDJ2UgNM
