Hi I got all the parts for a new gaming computer recently and on the power supply it came with a 20+4 pin connector. Theyre both tied together it seems like and they look like they go in perfectly to where the socket is, but when I put the 20 pin part in, the 4 pin won't fit, therefore not getting power from the power supply to the motherboard and therefore activating the machine.

I had another question, for the graphics card (Gigabyte GTX 960 G1 Gaming 4GD), I found the two slots on top that connect to the power supply it seems, and I plugged those in. I believe it was 2 4 pin slots maybe 6, I don't remember I'm not in front of it, but is that all I need to plug in, or am I missing something? I placed the graphics card into the slot and it fits (Even though its massive size), and then I plugged in the two plugs. i now believe one was a a 6 pin and the other one was an 8 pin, and those fit fine I just need to know if I'm missing anything I need to plug in.

And for my last question (sorry for all the questions haha), on my motherboard there's no HDMI connection slot. (Motherboard is ASRock Micro ATX DDR3 1066 Motherboards 970M PRO3), when putting the graphics card into place there are HDMI slots on that, is that what connects from the computer to the monitor? this is my first build so please excuse my questions

Thanks!

Solution
You need to link the 20 and 4 pin together there is probably a little tab to hold the 4 pin to it.

Your GPU is correctly connected and yes you can use HDMI or any of the connectors on the GPU ignore the ones on the motherboard.

I can address the display question: With an external GPU (your GTX 960) you'll be plugging whatever cable you need (HDMI in this case) into your monitor. If you had a CPU with integrated graphics, that's when you would plug in the HDMI cord into the motherboard.
