Hi Guys

Hope you can help me with this.

I've bought myself an ASUS STRIX Soar 7.1 soundcard and some Astro A50 headphones.

I have had hard time finding out if i set it up properly.

I got my SPDIF cable connected to my MiaxAmp through the optical cable provided by Astro and the conversion link.

Next i got my Astro MixAmp connected to power through the following USB cable.

Whenever i try to put the SPDIF as my default playback device the sound disappears. When I put Astro Wireless transmitter, as my default playback device, it works again.

I have to questions:
- How do i get my SPDIF to work with my astros? I really want the 7.1 sound from my headphones.
- How do i put my Astro A50 in PC mode. (Whenever i try to install the driver for astro a50, they ask me to put my headphones in PC mode, i Can't find this anywhere on the web)

And before you say google - I have tried googleing the problem, but most people have bought the Asus Xonar card. And I've tried the same settings, but without luck.

Greetings from DK.

1| Can you please pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your OS? Have you made sure your drivers are all up to date alongside your BIOS?

2| The surround sound offered by the MixAmp is upmixed stereo sound to provide a virtual surround sound stage. If anything, you should be aiming for analog connections but the MixAmp only powers off the USB while accepting audio input from an optical or analog stereo source.

3| Did you follow installation according to the bundled manual? If you're on Windows 10, it's good practice to disable automatic device driver updates as windows updates tend to provide a mish mash of drivers.

* Your post is a little confusing, you speak of the MixAmp but you also seem to be...
