I have an AMD V4900 right now, and I think it is starting to have issues. The screen will freeze and Windows 10 will pop up a message saying the display driver stopped responding and recovered. Has happened more and more over the past month or so. Seems to be mostly related to Firefox. Figured I would give another video card a shot.

Dell Optiplex 9020 with the stock power supply, so I can't go crazy. I don't play games, no CAD, maybe some videos from Plex here and there. Have 2x25" Dell LCDs at 2560x1440. Would prefer something as quiet as possible and hopefully 1GB or more.

I don't have a recommendation on a specific video card, but have you tried reinstalling your video drivers? You can try uninstalling with DDU ( http://www.wagnardmobile.com/?q=display-driver-uninstaller-ddu- ), then reinstall the drivers from www.amd.com. If that doesn't work, I'm sure someone will have a great suggestion. It used to be the FireMV or Quadro NVS lines were used for supporting multiple displays.

This is actually a fresh install of Windows 10 and it does the same thing with the default Windows 10 drivers, or the drivers from AMD. I can certainly give that a shot though.

I've been researching your current card, and according to this: http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/workstation/firepro-3d/4900#
your card only supports a maximum resolution of 2560x1600. If you're running two 2560x1440p display panels, I don't see how you can be pushing 5120x1440p pixels with that particular card. Unless, that is, your displays are mirrored.

It looks like that spec is for the maximum resolution of single display. Some research turned up information on the NVidia NVS 510, which is apparently capable of driving two 5K displays and has four mini-DisplayPorts. It may be overkill for your purposes though. Found the lowest price here:

http://www.amazon.com/PNY-DisplayPort-Profile-PCI-Express-VCNVS510DP-PB/dp/B009S2F268

Apparently only PNY ships a card with this particular GPU, and I can't say I'm a fan of their products. I'll keep looking and see if anything else turns up.

That NVS 510 looks nice as well. I do think my card at home is starting to give out. I checked and I have a W5000 right now. I think the NVS 510 is probably closer in specs based on pricing.

I can get a 1GB NVS 310 for $70 shipped on eBay, or if I get lucky....a 510 for ~120 or so. I would then need to get either miniDP to DP cables and a LP bracket....the ones with LP bracket already seem to go for $165+ and still need cables.

Talked to a seller and got an NVS 510 with both brackets, 4 miniDP to DP cables for $130 shipped. I think I might pick up 3x miniDP to miniDP cables so I don't have to daisy-chain. Feel like that is causing me some issues with the current card. We shall see. Thanks for the suggestions. Really appreciate it.
