FX 6300 vs i3 4170

Hello,
I'm bulding a new pc and can't decide between the fx 6300 and the i3 4170 for my cpu.I could get the fx 6300 with a hyper tx3 evo for the same price as the i3.I do not plan to overclock my cpu and probably won't be upgrading for a few years.I am going to be using a gtx 950.So which one should i get?

The FX 6300 isn't actually 6 cores either. Its a 3 chip processor with each chip containing 2 slower cores. That is why its single core performance is complete trash. The i3 will blow it away.

The i3 will blow away any fx chip in terms of single core performance. It depends on what games you are playing. The i3 have a better upgrade path and performs better in most cases, the stock cooler is fine for it as well. The FX line is dead as is AM3.

I'm going to mainly play GTA 5.As I'm not going to upgrade in the near future,the fx 6300 could maybe beat the i3 when games really start to use 4 cores or more?

I would get it because of the 6 cores,maybe future games start to use 4 cores or more?I'm not sure tho if that's going to happen in the next 3-4 years?
