Hi guys, I would like to ask, if there are any possibilities for laptop gpu cooling. I have cleaned it from the dust, re-applied thermal paste, bought cooling pad, but nothing seems to work. Is it possible, that I'm doing something wrong? (too little of that paste, wrong type of paste, bad possitioning of cooling pad, etc.) Is it possible, that heatsink just can't handle that heat anymore? My laptop: Acer aspire 5820TZG
Cooling pad: Trust Cooling Stand Xstream Breeze
Paste: (don't have it on hand, may be added in two weeks)

PS: CPU temps are not getting that crazy.. a little below 90°C on test, otherwise about 80-85°C. Thanks for ideas and replies.

I've cleaned out several laptops this way, in about 1/3rd the cases the temps did not really drop. Issue may be with the fan or the heatpipe. 80 C at idle is pretty hot, it's strange that it does not go up much during a test, did you check your CPU usage on idle?

Well, I forgot to mention, that "otherwise" I meant while doing some work, playing games or watching vids on youtube/streams on twitch. On idle it's about for 60-65°C for both CPU and GPU. Also I think that the fan itself is pretty strong, I tested it outside the laptop on max voltage. Also it seems the same, while the fan is running full/slow speed. Maybe it's just me, because I don't really know good way to test this. I also thought, it may be the heatsink, but is there easier way to test then buying a new one? This one is about 5 y/o as well as the laptop. I had idea of removing keyboard and placing another fan on the spot, where gpu/cpu is. Would it help?
