I'm building my first gaming PC. And was wondering what are some numbers that I could hit with this build?
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/LtfVdC
Case: In Win H-Frame 2.0 - 1055 Platinum cert. PSU
GPU: GTX 1080
TL;DR (PcPartPicker)
i7-6700k
Asus Maximus VIII Hero
Kraken x61
G.Skill TridentZ 2x16 3200 mhz CL14
How far could I OC this build?

Solution
You could get 4.8 or 5GHz at the very least on the CPU. Also, I'd advise against getting that monitor. Waaaay too many people have reported issues with backlight bleed and it's way too overpriced.

Do you know how far the ram could be OC'd? I want to get an ultrawide curved, do you have any recommendation?

lodders

Admirable
How much of an overclock you get is purely down to luck. You could buy 10 "identical" CPUs, and get a different maximum overclock with each of them.
However, with the rig you have specified, you have so much processing power that you probably won't need to do much overclocking.

BTW, you could get nearly the same performance for gaming if you spent many hundreds of dollars less.
a fast i5, mid range motherboard, normal memory and a GTX980Ti would still be epic performance..

I wanted something that will last me a good 5-10 years without much upgrading. i7 for multi threading in DX12. I do agree that the ram is a bit much for no reason, was thinking of getting a 16gb 2x8.

RAM speed doesn't affect performance in games. You see, the CPU and GPU both affect game performance because framerates depend on how fast those two can process stuff, but the RAM's job is to just store stuff, so as long as the RAM isn't too slow it doesn't affect performance. I'd recommend going with a 2666MHz kit instead to save some money. Also, maybe wait until Nvidia releases the 1080 Ti (you can play on the i7's iGPU which is fairly weak but still usable) since the 1080 Ti and the new Titan will have a more powerful GPU than the 1080 and (as far as I know) will feature HBM2.
