Good day could someone please help me I need to reinstall Windows 7 but it can't find the hardware driver Western Digital WD5000AAKS

S/N redacted

I searched but no luck, the Western Digital site only offers a manual and utilities which cannot be used when Windows is being installed

Thank You

Install Windows 10 with your Win 7 key(yes, that works) in order to:
1. take advantage of teh upgrade offer while it lasts
2. avoit such issues as you are having alltogether
3. get a way better os

Hey there, ITBFDR.

@13thmonkey is correct. Other than that you could try the basics - try the drive with a different SATA port and different cables (or with a different computer), to see if the same issue occurs.
As for your question, yes, the motherboard's website should have the necessary drivers for the mobo model.

One piece of advice - you should remove the S/N from your previous post if the drive is still under warranty, for security reasons.

Please let us know how it goes.

From what I was able to find out the motherboard uses Intel chipset, but it's manufactured by Hewlett-Packard (HP). So I'd get in touch with the manufacturer's customer support if I were you and ask for further assistance on locating the correct drivers for this mobo model.

What happened when you tried the drive with a different computer? Was it properly recognized by the system?
