I'm looking for the biggest processor and memory capacity for the price (to have for long time).And wanting to stay away from HP. I don't even need this large of a HDD. I am using an HP Compaq 6005 it came with a single 4gb with capacity of 16 so I bought an 8, then at same time I found that the second slot is unusable. It just made me mad! I was looking for an investment. Not just PCs that die in a month. And Hard drives are cheap, except for Windows disks and want to stay in the Win 7 family preferably Home Premium 64.

First with the extra RAM you got , did you make sure it was compatible with your system? Just because it's the saem type of RAM and fits in the slot does not mean the capacity or speed is correct. If you are looking for a used system in the price range of the one you picked, this one is best http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA78Y3UT5095 It's a workstation system which means the power supply and motherboard is a higher grade than even their other business systems, which are also better than their cheap home systems. It's also a tower which means it will have a decent wattage power supply and plenty of upgrade options, including ability to hold a decent video card for gaming if you want.

I used the ram it came with and the new ram to see if they will fit and --- It felt and sounded like a hard surface underneath the slot next to the one used - the system has a two groups, (4 White) and (4 Black) HP Compaq 6005 SFF Desktop and speccy RAM
