Is there a way I can rev up my cpu without revving my graphics card so I can check for noise

Himmatsj is dead-on for the CPU stress test. Also, CPU fan/heatsink will not be that expensive to replace if you want to change it.

If you have a newer ASUS mobo that came with AI Suite III, you can use Xfan to rev up any fan you choose while the others stops (to help identify which is which).
This reply refers to your post title, as I could not locate any question in the post. Also I assume by CPU you mean CPU fan since I doubt the CPU would make any disturbing noice.
