You are correct only to a point. Discussion that centers around the hardware only is just fine. A Mac is nothing more than a glorified PC at its heart. It's when the discussion shifts to the software that discussion is no longer permitted. The Apple EULA prohibits installation and running of OSX on non Apple branded hardware, and installing on a generic PC requires that changes be made to the copyrighted portions of OSX which violates the hacking/cracking rules that are in place.
The current conversation is centered around the hardware, which in this case is not capable of running OSX.
