i have an i7 6700 (not k) with the stock intel cpu cooler (h55 wasnt compatible with my msi b150 m3 motherboard, had it intalled and temps were 100 C when opening light games i.e. csgo)

temps when gaming max out at like 70 C (fallout 4 ultra while spamming atomic nuke launcher)

but my max temp while rendering a 1080p 60fps video was 81 C, was just wondering if its safe to have my cpu with the stock intel cooler at 80 C for ~30 min at a time while rendering, thanks!

Either/or I've seen the 212 EVO do better and worse ;) They are both pretty much equal, a very slight difference in the amount of Thermal compound can throw an edge to one or the other. I've been using EVO before they were the EVO (back to the Plus). the H7 is a slightly smaller footprint
Higher than I would want too, but not unsafe. I too would recommend an aftermarket cooler if that's what you are reaching, to help extend the life of your CPU. The H7 is good and I would recommend it, and I would suggest the RAIJINTEK Pallas as another good and compact alternative, although at $40 in the US,

Well this is is too high temps for a skylake (generally its lower ) but high temp won't harm your CPU since its made from metals that can last on very high temps .but higher than 80 c would just slow the CPU down .and it will make it to be slower than it should be even after a month .i recommend you buying an CPU cooler (212 evo ,with 30$) if you don't want to spend more money (more than 10$) you try buying a thermal paste (mx4 artic) just make sure you apply a little ,too much will negative effect.
