Xeon W3670 and i7-970 the same CPU?

Solution
The CPU is unlocked, so it has an unlocked multiplier. The BIOS on the board you have may not allow it, but that does not change the fact that the multiplier is unlocked. Sorry I was not more clear about it.

No. I don't think Precision T3500 workstations have OC'ing options, do they? Do W3670s even have an unlocked multiplier?

You mean there's a trick to use to unlock the multiplier on a board that has no prevision for doing so?

You were wrong. The Xeon W3670 does not have an unlocked CPU multiplier.
