The past few days i have been trying to use Apps and games on my computer but it tells me that they are having troubles connecting to the servers. After looking what seems like everywhere i haven't found anything that leads to fixing my problem. What i did find is in my command prompt ipconfig, it says that my adapters have the media is disabled. I'm not smart when it comes to this stuff so i'm not sure if i'm missing network drivers or what.

Solution
Is it "disabled" or "disconnected"? Two totally different issues. Is this on WiFi or Ethernet? Did you check the connections? Does the network card show up in Device Manager? Laptop or Desktop? What is it connected to, router, switch, modem? Did you check the cable, reboot whatever it's connected to, do other things work in the house OK?

The media is disconnected, I am on wifi, Acer Laptop and i'm not sure where or what is the network card. other people that use the WiFi in this house have no problem. If needed i can get a picture of the ipconfig or device manager.

Go to the wifi connection list, delete the connection you have, re-connect again to the network. Make sure the ipconfig is showing you the wireless connection and that you are not looking at the ethernet connection. If you are on WiFi the ethernet connection will say media disconnected because there is no cable. That's normal.

I've tried deleting the connection and re-connecting and i still have the problem. I think the ipconfig isn't the problem anymore i just thought it was because i saw media disconnected. i can get on the internet fine but when it comes to apps like Skype and any video games i get errors saying that connection to servers aren't working. Skype tells me that my internet connection is bad also. Would there be a reason that just my computer is being slow with the WiFi to the point where things are not capable of working?

Try rebooting the router and modem, if that does not work, contact your ISP and have them check the connection and "bounce" your modem. That's basically resetting the modem and the connection from their end. Test the system on ethernet also.

The simple solution is open the device manager mmc devmgmt.msc - highlight the problem hardware and hit the delete key - do not put a check in the delete software option - At the top click the Action section and click on Scan for hardware changes. Your network adapter will be reinstalled and the ipconfig utility will work again

Thanks for posting this, I'd worked on my system for days until I read your solution.
I had bought a new video card, and when I updated the software, it added a controller to the device area under networking and slowed the system to 1 or less mg.
After disabling the device, my Internet speed went back up to 19.6, I have 20 with CenturyLiink.
