Would selling my GTX 970 and GTX 960 make enough to afford a GTX 1070?

Hi, I currently have a Palit GTX 970 reference which is 8 months old and a Zotac GTX 960 reference which is 11 months old. Neither have seen heavy use, the 960 in particular. I like gaming but do not have a lot of free time to play right now so can live with the on chip graphics for now. Should I sell now before release or wait and risk the second hand value falling?
Thanks.

Compared to the 1080 and 70 (from what we know at least) i would say it is, but in the end it's all your decision.

The thing is, and take this from someone who sold his 970's about two months ago, prices have dropped hard already, i sold 2 asus strix gtx 970's on ebay about 2 months ago one for 278 and the other for 282. Auction winning bids for 970's are about 200 max at the moment. It might be a bit late but yes, go for it if you can get someone to pay good enough.

Thanks for the answers. I am in the UK and I suspect it will be July/August before they can be bought off the shelf. On UK Ebay now the 970s are still selling for £170 plus so I think I will cash in now and use the 960 in the time being.

I serously doubt that any price conscious SH buyer is buying 970s these days, but you could give it a try. Maybe you'll find a fool :))
