I made this thread to ask if its possible to run a Nvidia GPU on an AMD A-10 7850k because im planning to upgrade my HTPC to a "MID RANGE" gaming setup that can play AAA games to medium to high settings or to stream FPS and RTS games such as LoL,Dota 2,CSGO,and TF2
Im looking on a Zotac GTX 950 AMP! edition 2G DDR5

This is my current build
PROCESSOR: AMD A-10 7850k
GPU: R7 integrated graphics (U) Zotac GTX 950 AMP! edition 2GB DDR5
MOTHERBOARD:Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-HD3
RAM: HyperX Fury 2X4gb 1866
PSU: CORSAIR VS450 (U) to CORSAIR CX500M
COOLER: STOCK (U) COOLER MASTER HYPER 212x

and is there a required method to run the my GTX 950 on an APU system

thank you in advance

Solution
Yes the 950 will work fine , its a good choice for your system.

No special way to install it, just uninstall your catalyst / crimson drivers, install the card, switch on & install the geforce driver package
with newer cpu that have build in video. in the bios there two setting you can change. one is primany display. it tell what output you want as the main output. most vendors now set that to auto. so that one gpu will come on at first boot. set that to peg/pci to make the onboard video first. then look for muilt monitor settings. make sure this is off to turn off the onboard gpu chipset. if it on both the gpu will be on.
