Can I upgrade my AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+ CPU to support Windows 10?

Hi all,

May I ask for some assistance please.

I have an old Compaq Presario S5100UK (running Windows 7) which contains an AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+ CPU and an A7N8X-LA motherboard by ASUSTek Computer INC.

My Windows 10 upgrade errors on these:-

"The PC's Processor doesn't support critical feature (PAE/SSE2)"
"The PC's Processor doesn't support critical feature (NX2)"

My CPU spec says it has SSE but not PAE, SSE2 and NX2, this I can understand because of the age of the PC, but I wanted to ask if I could go and buy an upgraded CPU, install it and try the upgrade again?

Would this be a possible solution?

Thanks

Lee

It's Windows 7 32Bit.

Are you saying that installing a new/upgraded CPU would not work? (If not I will just leave Windows 7 on it, as I am just using an old pc for a DLNA server).

Thanks
