New to Amd, need help for GPU

So, I am new to amd and I didn't knew before that it has its own onboard GPU..

I have a 2 gb onboard radeon graphics processor, what will happen to it when I buy a seperate 1 gb GPU?

Will the onboard gpu and the one I bought combine to make a 3gb gpu or no?

you would be better off upgrading the apu

get an a10, it's built in HD 8650D is faster than a r5 230, plus you also get the benefit of quad core cpu
