Looking to upgade from Nvidia GTX 670ftw

As the title states, I'm looking to get a better gpu than my current 670 ftw. I plan on upgrading my monitor so I can start playing games at 1080p resolution. currently I can play most games on ultra setting no problem but I notice a big drop in FPS when I play on anything higher than 1600x900 resolution.

I've researched and compared other GPU's and it seems like I wouldn't be doing myself any favors by going with the 700 series due to all the negative reviews. Just need an opinion on what I should upgrade too. I want to stick with Nvidia. Should I look at the 900 series?

I have an i7 2600 which I plan on upgrading to an i7 4770 if that info helps

You realise going from a 2600 to 4770 would need a new motherboard? The 4770 is also 2 generations old now, if your going to spend that sort of money you should look at the current generation.

I also agree, wait for the 1070 reviews, it's replacing the the 970. You can then decide between the 970 or 1070

wait for the 1070. You might then find a cheap 970, but i'm surprised that a 670 is struggling to be honest, dropping 'ultra' down to high will often give you a massive boost with little change in image quality, even dropping AA a couple of notches will do that.
