Second monitor flickering while gaming (gpu load)

I've recently upgraded my graphics card from gts 450 to gtx 770, cpu (phenom ii x4 955) and mobo not changed. Upgraded my psu to silentiumpc 600W. I'm using hdmi monitor as a main one (1920 x 1080) and a second one as a secondary to have a browser open while gaming (older vga monitor - possibly 7-8 years old). I noticed that while gaming, not always but when there is more gpu usage there is flickering on the second monitor, mostly noticable when i have gray background open, not noticable when i have light colors. I'm using vga to dvi adapter because gtx 770 doesn't have vga port.
Both monitors are at 60 Hz refresh rate
What would possibly be the problem? Graphics card? Adapter? Cable? Monitor? Drivers? Some option in nvidia control panel?
Thanks in advance for the answers
