Upgrading processor and mobo, but how does the complete build look?

Alrighty, then, I've successfully upgraded to the point where my AMD FX 4170 and M5a78l-m/usb3 motherboard are the slowest components in my desktop. I aim to upgrade with the following:

- MSI Z97 Gaming 5 LGA1150
- Intel Core i5-4690K or similar

...but I've never done anything to my processor/motherboard other than screw a cooling fan to it. I'm a bit worried about incompatibility, screwing up the rebuild by doing something dumb, etc.

My existing components are as follows:

Hard Drive = Seagate ST2000DX001-1 NS164
GPU = MSI GTX 970 4GB
RAM = HyperX FURY Series 8GB DDR3 (two sets of them)
PSU = Corsair CX600M (iirc, this shouldn't be an issue, as Haswell i5s have lower power draw than AMD FX?)

Anyone see any screaming issues with this proposed build? Any clearly better suggestions on a similar budget? Tips and tricks? All suggestions would be awesome - oh, I do aim to get some kind of static protection set up first, and my case can handle an ATX mobo. :)

Also, a really stupid question - after I rebuild, I should be able to just connect my hard drive up to the new mobo and fire up my system as normal, right?

Ah, I see - good job I checked! I'll get on with making backups. Maybe I should do something smart like invest in two hard drives rather than one big one...

Fair enough - this PSU was intended as a bit of a stopgap in any event, makes sense to replace it. Thanks for the suggestions, will make a note of them. Rest of the build look OK?

Thanks very much for the quick reply! :)
