I currently have a 500W Bronze EVGA for my FX 8320 and R9 380. I'm thinking about buying a new i7 4790k. Would I need to upgrade my PSU and if so to what? Thanks
Your PSU is very poor quality. http://www.overclock.net/t/1500086/why-you-should-not-buy-an-evga-400-600-and-500b-600b
I would change it to a decent 550w EVGA GS or G2 or a RMX 550w.
It should run it fine although it is almost at its limit also id go for 6600k it will be cheaper and run on newer platform and as far as gaming wont have a performance hit vs 4790k.

I get the quality thing but if he already has one i see no reason to buy a new one and throw old one out when it runs just fine.
