New mobo for FX-8350

So I have a FX-8350 with the MSI 970A-G43 mobo (quite a common thing by the looks of it), and whilst doing some stress testing I found that the CPU throttles. It happened in OCCT, aldough I have not seen it in AIDA64 stress test in the past.
I am thinking that the reason is the motherboard, since it is not really meant to be used with a CPU like this.
Now which mobo should I upgrade to, since I do not have a lot of money?
I know it would be best to switch to Intel, but I do not really have the funds for it.
I think I could also overclock the 8350 with the new mobo, since with this one I am afraid that I will blow the vrms.

Solution
When you switch from the stock AMD 125w HSF to something like the Scythe Mugen 4, you need to replace the lost 'side-draft' on the CPU socket and PWM. Rig a case fan pointing at them and rock on.

GB motherboards will OC a bit better but can be finicky with RAMs. For a full 32GB with 4 sticks you are limited to 1866MHz (not really a big deal if you think about it).

The best deal is the Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P for 78,50 €. There is a new Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming with 2 M.2 connectors on the global market that would likely cost around 100 €.

You could email them and see if they can order some. You might be doing them a favor --- they might sell a truckload of them :)

I quite like the looks of it.
But should I go the 990 chipset, or is it not worth it. I can pay a bit more than for the Gigabyte which is around 100€ here.
I would go Intel, but I am a student, and I will be getting a new SSD, and maybe getting something better than the r7 260x I currently have, so I am a bit short on money (the Intel route would cost me approximately 3x as much as just a new mobo).
EDIT: And I am not sure if my local stores are just lazy for updating photos or they actually have just rev1 boards.

I wouldn't spend any more money on the 4-5 year old AMD AM3+ platform. Try down clocking your cpu. Even the cheapest Haswell or Skylake i3 would be an upgrade in gaming for you. There is no reason to break the bank on Intel.

Another easy option would be to get a FX6300.

OK, I will consider if I can just get me an Intel setup.
But what should I get since besides gaming I also do some photo and video editing as well as a bit of cad drawing. I just need a rough idea as to what would be good without breaking the bank.
I am thinking about Haswell instead of Skylake, since I won't have to get new RAM.

I'll most likely just get the Gigabyte 970A-UD3P board, since it will work great for another few jears, and wont cost me alot.
Just a small aditional question: Could I do a smaller overclock with it?

Edit: Just found the Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 R5 as well as the 970A-UD3P on sale in another store. They are currently going for the same price. Which one should I get.
And all of the UD3Ps are Rev1 for some reason

The 8+2 PWM on either motherboard is the same. The 970-chipset motherboard is essentially a maintenance replacement for your existing motherboard (being that it throttles your FX-8350). That means you should have no issues validating your Windows OS.

I don't think it would be an issue with the GA-990XA-UD3 R5, but it might.

I am not concerned about my Windows install, since I will be also buying a bigger SSD and doing a clean install.
So what would be the best value for my money.

From a general performance and/or over-clocking standpoint, it will not matter. With good air/water either will take a nice OC. Your G43 will likely take a much smaller OC, but you will need to disable Turbo and 'APM' in the BIOS to control the core-throttling.

There are new 8+2 PWM AM3+ motherboards from Gigabyte and Asus that feature M.2 connectors and USB 3.1 Type-A ports for another $10- to $20
(if that is of any interest to you).

Gigabyte also has a *GA-990XA 'Gaming'* with new features but it has yet to debut in the US . . .

Yeah I've seen newer boards like the asus 970a aorus (or somehing like that) with rgb (kinda wanna get it just to annoy my roomate :D ) but to be serious I do not think I'll need the usb 3.1 port anytime soon, but the m.2 slots I might use, since I am planing to buy a new ssd, although they are a bit more expensive. So right now I do not know what I should get except that it should be something better than my current g43 (for which I am afraid that the VRMs are going to blow up one day)
So I think I will be buying from here, since it would be the cheapest for me:
https://www.computeruniverse.net/props/30000099/10000141/30011419/pc-mainboards-motherboards-sockel-am3-plus.asp

So if anyone could reccomend a board for a maximum of around 100€ I would be greatful.

Also I tried overclocking a while back but I quickly dialed it back once I found out the board is not really recommended and I might blow something up.
I have a decent cooler (Scythe Mugen 4), so I think I could get a decent overclock out of it.
