EVGA G2 750w vs Corsair AX760

I'm currently struggling between picking one of these two PSU's because-

1. The EVGA unit apparently doesn't have OTP, but has amazing reviews -everywhere-. Professionally and on Newegg/other sites.

2. The AX760, despite being Seasonic, has worse reviews, but DOES have OTP and other protections to my knowledge. It should also be a higher build quality since it's way more expensive.

Without price being a factor, which of these PSU's is best to choose, and is the lack of OTP a reason for not picking the EVGA G2?

Thanks.

I have both myself and choosing between these would i pick the G2,but i had some personal issues with the AX on an Asus motherboard which my opinion reflects. Looking at the EVGA site for the model does it say it has OTP so don't know where you get that from.

This might well be the motherboards fault (it probably is) so keep that in mind,The AX does fine in another system.
well the 750 G2 is a great PSU,as is the AX760. I have used both and I I cannot say which is really better. obviously the AX has slightly better efficiency, However the EBGA one should have OTP Those are super flower platforms. so they should have OTP, as Super flower does have it. I would just get the G2, if it is noticeably less with current pricing you cannot loose.

Hmm, well, I'm only debating because the AX760 is on sale for 94 dollars right now. Otherwise I'd definitely just get the G2 as it's normally much cheaper. But we're talking a difference of 10 dollars now.

Out of curiosity, what Asus motherboard had difficulty? I'm considering the Z170 Ranger in my system.

Also, EVGA claims on their website that every one of their power supplies come with OTP, but on specific products (mostly higher-end power supplies like the G2 and P2 series), OTP is not mentioned. This has been an issue on professional review websites where people who strip the supply can't find any OTP functions. Jonnyguru has an extensive thread on it and their opinion is that they have no one at EVGA who can clearly say whether the unit comes with OTP or not.

Sorry for that lengthy explanation.

It was/is a Z77 motherboard, and i think you'll be fine. Asus "anti surge" sometimes is very "tight" in what it sees as a wrong voltage.Maybe even wrong "calibrated",i'm not sure what it is.There are more threads about that.=>Asus "anti surge".

I read that thread and it seems one was able to trigger a heat protection there so i wouldn't worry. They also figured, even though not presented as that=OTP ,it was present probably in the fan controller (managed by that) in some way.I don't think that a psu like that comes without such a protection, that would be just stupid or very cocky.
