Hello, a few weeks ago I got a new motherboard, the "Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 5", and life was fantastic. I used the computer normally, turning it off every evening. One day the screen simply didn't start when I turned the computer on, and I assumed it was a loose cord or something, and so I checked them all and turned on the computer, everything working fine.

But when I turned it off and wanted to start it again the same thing happened. This time it didn't work when I looked over the cords but I took the bios battery for about 3-4 seconds and that worked, but since then I haven't been able to get the monitor to start. I have tried with multiple monitors but I only get the "No signal" message.

On the motherboard is the error message "04" which doesn't exist in my booklet I received with the board. I am so confused why this happens, and I don't know what to do anymore. Any ideas please?

(Nothing I've found on different forums so far have worked)

Edit: I have tried removing different components, but nothing works. I dont get any beeps from my case speaker (except for when I wanted to see if it worked and I removed both my sticks of ram, then it beeped lite it normally should)

Solution
"Alright, so I should keep my gpu inserted all the time"...

Yup, I tried that now but nothing changed unfortunately. I tried changing between both sticks and all the slots (though the slots are actually numbered 1-4, so I assumed from the beginning they should be placed accordingly)

No change yet. I also removed my graphics card but still no change. And still no beeps from the case speaker.

I have an old motherboard from 2010, but then my current RAM and PSU won't fit. So then I will have to use old parts completely, except for my graphics card. But it's worth a shot I suppose.

I have removed the bios battery for long times many times, but nothing seems to change. I still have the "04" error code on the board:/

There are no pins close to the bios battery, and I find nothing like the jumper pins on this specific motherboard.

Alright, so I should keep my gpu inserted all the time.
