Hello there guys. I'm currently using a PC I bought 5 years ago for about £1000 excluding keyboard and mouse. I'v got a budget of £600 and can move up to about £660 at a stretch (really would rather not).

I love my current PC, but with this money set aside for a new PC, I thought that instead I would ask you guys to help me spend it on parts to upgrade my existing PC rather than buying a whole new one. My idea was this may save some money and possibly allow me to get even more performance for the same money.

The PC is used for the usual web browsing, along with gaming. I would love if it could competently render videos (from Sony Vegas to post on YouTube). I would like to include a monitor in the upgrade but other than that, I would love some advice on how best to spend the money.

I'm not very well versed with PC building/upgrading, so please treat me as a novice :)

If you need any more info, please do ask.

Also, I have not got the Operating system reboot key/cd so if I need to reinstall it, I may need to buy a new copy. I would love some advice on that too. Just pretend im a baby who has no idea what he's doing and with that in mind, some suggestions would be great :)

Thanks in advance, GladiatorGamer

My specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T CPU
Geforce GTX 960 GPU
8GB DDR3 RAM
ASUSTek Computer M477T/USB3 AMD 770 chipset Motherboard
Coolermaster 500W power supply. Not sure how to find further specs
1TB hard drive, not sure which brand.
Not sure what type of CPU cooling system installed. Its a back cylinder with black tubes running up to the fan at the back.
Standard cooling fans
Large case, space not a problem

Ah, the build is too old to upgrade? That's a shame. As for time, I really need a new computer now. A friend mentioned that new hardware is coming out soon but since my computer is already 5 years old I think I'd still have a significant upgrade even if I chose to do it now. Let me know what you think
