Sorry I posted from my phone and it must not have gotten everything.
I noticed this issue posted on tom's hardware forum and the solution ended up being to update the BIOS for your motherboard. I tried to do this but could not find a download for Windows 10 64bit OS for the Lenovo SL410. Didn't know if someone on here could help me out with this?
Laptop: Lenovo SL410
OS: Windows 10 64bit
Original RAM: x2 2GB
New RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T6670 2.20 GHz
As noted I installed the new ram and it sounds like PC turns on but nothing on the screen. When I place original ram back everything works fine.
Use the BIOS Update Bootable CD method to update the BIOS as that method doesn't need Windows (except to create the bootable CD) so it doesn't matter which Windows version is installed.
