Is my ssd dead ?

I am using Micron C400 MTFDDAK256MAM-1K1 ssd on my laptap. It (its model no.) appears in the Bios, device manager, windows installer and as online in disk part.
In windows indtaller , it appears as unallocated space but I cannot allocate it. In disk part , I cannot pass the command 'create partition primary' (error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error).

Is the ssd dead or is there any way to rectify the error?

(I cannot take it out to check it on an other laptop, since I have only one available right now )

Hey there, raisedfir707.

I/O (Input/Output) errors are never a good sign. Unfortunately, since you are unable to boot to Windows and test the drive and since you don't have the option to try the SSD with a different computer (either externally or internally), there's no much you can do. If you have another 2.5" drive which fits the laptop's SSD/HDD drive bay, you could try it out and see if the same issue occurs. Other than that all you are left with is ti get in touch with the laptop manufacturer's customer support and ask for further assistance, or take the laptop to a computer service shop for the guys there to diagnose the problem.
