I had previously changed my default installation directory from C: to D:
My computer then had a breakdown and i had to refresh my PC, after refreshing i had a document on my desktop with the "removed apps" although my program files were still in D:

I then changed my directory in regedit again and rebooted thinking it would go back as it did before but it didnt, now to open non C: files i gotta go via library.

is there any way to add my previously installed files back into the system and search bar

You will probably need to reinstall them.
When you install programs into Windows, many of them write entries into the Registry, the Users AppData, and possibly their own hidden/system folders. Without these entries many programs will not run correctly and some will not even launch at all.

Games that use an installer, like Steam, often just need to have the Launcher reinsatalled and then the location of the games added to the launchers library and then they will run correctly.
