Duel Monitor Issues

Hello,

I have two identical ViewSonic monitors plugged into my GPU via DVI cables, but I can't get them both displaying at once. My graphics card is an AMD R9 270X, my OS is Windows 10 64-bit. I have done a clean install of the latest GPU and chipset drivers, using AMD Cleanup Utility as well as Display Driver Uninstaller before installing Crimson Edition 16.5.2 Hotfix drivers and Crimson Edition 16.4.2 chipset drivers.

Monitor one works fine if it is the only one plugged in (to slot 1), but plugging the second monitor into slot 2 causes both monitors to fail. The first monitor loses it's signal and loses picture, but the gains a signal as indicated by it's blue light, yet displays only a blank black screen.

Switching the monitors causes monitor two, now plugged into slot 1 to gain signal and display picture correctly, while monitor one plugged into slot 2 has neither signal nor picture.

Could this be an issue with the graphics card? Both monitors work fine independantly so it can't be the screens or the cables, and until a few days ago they were running perfectly together. Another cause might be an update to Windows 10, as these issues only seem to have started after running a batch of updates.

Any help appreciated.

I had tried it previously, it extends my two monitors as if they were one, but the second monitor remains blank so I only have half a screen.
