Hi there folks,

I'm looking to build a new computer since it seems my CPU in my current one has likely bit the dust.

What I currently have is a asrock fm2a88x extreme6+ mobo but I'm up for building off a new board.

I'm a gamer so that's probably the #1 priority and use of this build. I am looking for 6+ sata ports, USB 3.0 on the rear and support for the front panel, HD audio, and hdmi integrated.

I'm still looking at Fm2+, but AM3+ is definitely an option. I'm looking to keep it under 300 if possible, but that's not a firm limit.

Lastly, suggest some cases that will give plenty of clearance for a corsair h100i and a GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 970 4GB G1 GAMING OC Edition with wiggle room to easily install ram without the cooler getting in the way.

Thanks in advance.

Update: I'll definitely consider Intel as well, I'm just familiar with building Intel. Also, the case isn't a part of the $300 budget, it's separate, I'm just not looking for a expensive one, anything 100 and under would be great, and can be full or mid tower. Lastly, unless the ram is ddr4, I can take 16gb worth of ddr3 from my current system. Things I'm taking from my current system are the gpu, h100i, 2 sticks of ram, and the 850W psu. I also have a spare 1tb hdd so that's a non-issue. I appreciate the suggestions and look forward to seeing a few more hopefully.

I would highly recommend choosing a Skylake CPU over the AM3+ if you're gaming. The i3 6100 is very powerful in gaming, and still can beat out the AMD FX series in several categories. If you're a gamer and are looking for motherboard with ability, the Skylake series would definitely outmatch AMD. This Asrock board has USB 3.1, six 6GB/S sata ports, DDR4 memory, and a plethora of upgrade paths. Finally the NZXT S340 is a great case, one which I highly recommend. It can fit your GTX 970, even with a radiator in the front. Overall it is your build, but the benefits from Skylake far outweigh any benefits team Red can offer. Best of luck!
