So I have a custom built computer about a month old and I noticed a burning smell coming from back chassis fan. The smell filled the whole room (not very strong smell unless right near computer) and everything still worked fine. BIOS and HWMonitor say nothing overheating though. Here are my specs:
Intel Pentium G3469 CPU
EVGA GeForce GTX 960 FTW GPU
MSI H81M-P33 motherboard
EVGA 500W PSU
Aftermarket heat sink; Thermaltake Frio Silent 12
Creative Sound Blaster Z Soundcard
Hitachi Deskstar HUA723020ALA641 2TB HDD
Hitachi Deskstar HDP725025GLA380 120GB HDD

There are no blown or puffed capacitors
There isn't any dust to burn
The smell wasn't coming from the PSU
This is the first time it's happened

Any help would be appreciated.

You've got a junk motherboard in all fairness, and an okay PSU. Are there any ripped or frayed cables? Once I damaged a SATA cable and a burning plastic smell filled the room (I plugged in a hard drive when the pc was on)

EDIT: That cable managment is pretty poor, you're lucky your PC hasn't overheated. Can you tidy it up?

The cable management was better but I just undid it all inspecting everything, as when the pic was taken I had just put it back in. As for the damaged cables, none are frayed in melted.
