What type of Ram does the ASUS H170 Pro Gaming MB use?

Hello!

So I'm currently building my PC. I got this H170 Pro Gaming Motherboard that comes with a pair of G.Skill RAM. I just found out that the motherboard supports DDR4. The G.Skill Ram is DDR3. I was wondering if the memory would work for my motherboard or would I have to buy stritcly DDR4 Ram? Thanks!

Yes, you need DDR4 RAM. DDR3 sticks don't fit in DDR4 slots and vice versa.

Ugh I figured as so. I even though it was stupid of me to think DDR3 would fit. I just thought maybe it would since it came with the motherboard.

What type of RAM would you recommend? I would like to start with 8GB at the moment and then later upgrade.
