Hello!

I have a 780GTX and I am running multiple clients of the MMORPG called EvE Online. My current GPU is running at 72-77C.

Is this acceptable? Or too high and therefore damaging my GPU?

Oh dear lol on idle, that's waaaay too high. Water cooling cheapest would be around 80$, that's an adapter and a H60. And for an older GPU, and if not extreme overclocking, or running SLI, don't go water cooling. The stock cooler is enough. Even for moderate overclockz. Even for SLI. And as I said those temps are nothing to worry about. And if they were even on idle, that means your cooler is broken.

Nope that's a good temperature. Gpus can get up to 85-90C while gaming. And also those older cards, the 770,780/ti run hotter than the newer maxwell and well obv, pascal. 72 is a good temperature for a GPU. My 7970 hits around 79/80 during long periods of gaming. You want it less than 90C. That's when the GPU will thermal throttle and 100c it will shut itself down.

72-77C at idle - start to worry.
72-77C at High - full load - It's normal, so don't worry.
If you are extremely worried then pick up some water cooling for the gpu, as that will make temps lower directly for the gpu.
